Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. We use browser-based storage technologies (localStorage and sessionStorage) which work similarly — they let us remember your preferences so you get a better, faster experience every time you visit.
We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any cookies that follow you across other websites.
2. What We Store & Why
The table below lists every item we store in your browser and its purpose:
| Name | Storage Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
sd_theme |
localStorage | Remembers your dark/light mode preference | Until cleared |
sd_cookie_consent |
localStorage | Stores whether you accepted or rejected cookies so we don't ask again | Until cleared |
sd_cache_ts |
localStorage | Records when site assets were last cached so stale data is cleared automatically after 7 days | 7 days |
sd_session |
sessionStorage | Active only while your browser tab is open; used for in-session memory caching for faster page loads | When tab closes |
3. Service Worker Caching
If you accept cookies, we register a Service Worker in your browser. This caches site assets (HTML, CSS, images) locally so repeat visits load faster — even on a slow connection. This cache:
- Is stored entirely on your own device.
- Does not send your data to us or any third party.
- Expires automatically after 7 days.
- Is also cleared whenever we push a site update.
If you reject cookies, we only use in-session memory caching (sessionStorage). Nothing persists after you close your browser tab. Your visit is still fast — just not cached for next time.
4. No Third-Party Cookies
We do not use:
- Google Analytics or any analytics platform that tracks users.
- Facebook Pixel or any social media tracking scripts.
- Advertising networks or remarketing cookies.
- Any cookies that identify or follow you across other websites.
5. Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit our site, a banner asks for your preference. You can:
- Accept — enables Service Worker caching for faster repeat visits.
- Reject — only session-based caching is used; nothing is stored persistently.
To change your choice at any time, clear your browser's site data for stevedevdigital.com:
- Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → search stevedevdigital.com → Delete.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search and remove.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search and remove.
After clearing, the cookie consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if we add or change browser storage items. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
